New fly-tipping squad to tackle Crewe and Nantwich litter louts

A new team of officers recruited to tackle fly-tippers across Crewe and Nantwich, have issued 232 fixed penalty notices.

The private contractors, who started last week, aim to reduce fly-tipping, littering and dog fouling in the borough over the next 12 months.

A Nantwich man was killed when he was hit be a train near Wrenbury, British Transport Police has confirmed.

The 26-year-old victim was on the Shrewsbury to Crewe line near Wrenbury Station when he was hit at around 10.20am yesterday (October 9).
