A Christmas carol specially composed for Nantwich will be premiered before a packed crowd at St Mary’s Church on December 16.
The Nantwich Carol, celebrating the town’s historic and famous cheese industry, will have its official unveiling during Nantwich Choral Society’s festive family concert this Saturday.
Nantwich Choral Society is on the hunt for fresh musical talent as part of a £600 national competition.
The ‘Nantwich Carol Composition’ contest offers bumper cash prizes and the chance for established and emerging composers to hear their work performed before a packed audience at St Mary’s Church in December.

The Wistaston Singers performed at a Christmas Carol concert at St Stephen’s Methodist Church in Crewe.
Phil Houghton was musical director and organist and also introduced each carol and soloist. Jane Hale was the accompanist.
Stapeley families are invited to join in the parish’s first annual Christmas Carol concert later this month. The event will be held at the Cronkinson Farm pub (pictured), off Peter Destapleigh Way, from 6.30pm onwards on Wednesday December 21.
