Cheshire Police welcome closure of asylum seeker hotel in Crewe

Cheshire Police chiefs have welcomed the closure of an asylum seeker hotel in Crewe amid an “unacceptable”  amount of crime and disorder.

The Crewe Arms Hotel was being used to accommodate single male asylum seekers, but it has now been closed following partnership work between Cheshire Constabulary and the Home Office.

Crewe Arms Hotel bosses fined £80,000 for fire safety breaches

The company which runs Crewe Arms Hotel has been fined £80,000 for breaching fire safety regulations.

Hospitality First Two Ltd, which runs the venue on Nantwich Road, pleaded guilty at Liverpool Magistrates Court to five breaches of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
