More than 120 Nantwich Show volunteers enjoyed a celebration evening to mark the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service – the MBE for volunteers.
David Briggs, Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire, presented the crystal trophy, official letter and certificate from the Queen at a cheese and wine evening organised by the Show directors.
A Nantwich fireman was one of 19 in Cheshire to be honoured with a Long Service and Good Conduct Medal.

Nantwich in Bloom is to unveil a unique Flaming Floral Beacon as part of the town’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. The floral tribute will be placed in the bed behind the Cenotaph in Nantwich town square, said Nantwich in Bloom coordinator Doug Butterill.
