Ex Nantwich Town striker Lee Steele has been fined £200 by the FA for a Twitter comment about gay rugby player Gareth Thomas. Steele, 38, who signed for the Dabbers in January, was sacked by previous club Oxford City after the comment made about Thomas’ appearance on Celebrity Big Brother.

By Ashley Houghton Jimmy Quinn described his side’s defending as “very poor” after Nantwich Town failed to beat nine-man Hednesford. The visitors had captain Darren Campion sent off in the first half and Jamey Osborne dismissed near the end for a second yellow card.
Nantwich Town have added to their striking options ahead of today’s match with Hednesford by signing Lee Steele. The experienced forward has over 300 league appearances for Shrewsbury, Leighton Orient, Brighton, Oxford United and Chester City.
