Lorries banned from Baddington Bridge near Nantwich

A weight restriction has been placed on the A530 Baddington Lane Bridge near Nantwich for safety reasons.

The 7.5 tonne limit on the bridge, which crosses the old Nantwich to Market Drayton railway line, will be in place from Monday (Sept 29th).

Heavy duty HS2 construction lorries could be using some of Nantwich’s busiest junctions dozens of times every day under plans seen by Nantwich News.

Ansa managers were forced to drive bin lorries to maintain Cheshire East collections when the service was threatened by driver shortages.

Cheshire East was one of the few councils which managed to keep bin collections, including recyclables and garden waste, going during pandemic lockdowns.
