Steam railway plan unveiled for Nantwich town centre churches

Train enthusiasts have launched an ambitious scheme to build a steam railway line between two Nantwich churches. The “Nantwich Crossrail” project would ferry visitors between the Methodist church on Hospital Street and St Mary’s Church in the town square.

Scores of residents attended exhibitions in Nantwich to study plans for a controversial housing development in Stapeley. Many people are objecting to the Muller and Jones Homes proposal for 600 new homes and a village centre in an ambitious “Nantwich South” development.
