Most Crewe Regional Sunday League teams were involved in second round Presidents’ Cup games this weekend.

In the top game of the day, Crewe Athletic were 2-0 up against White Lion Ford Lane after only six minutes, thanks to goals from Nathan Tickle.

However, the scores were level at half time, only for Crewe Athletic to regain the lead before Lion fought back with a late equaliser to claim a 3-3 draw.

White Lion then won the penalty shoot-out 4-5.

Luke Gillan scored the other Crewe Athletic goal with Ben Durkin, Russell Schofield and Danny Roberts on target for the visitors.

There was another game of fluctuating fortunes at Bunbury, where the visitors, Salvador, lead NHB 2-4 at half time.

After various twists and turns, the game finished at 5-5, with NHB winning the penalty shoot-out 5-4.

Alex Ball and Andy Ward both scored twice for the home side, with Will Ellwood completing the scoring.

Dewi Lewis and Stu Evans both scored twice for Salvador, with Wayne Beggs also on target.

The match at Sandbach was also highly entertaining.

Visitors White Horse led 1-3 at half time, but Sandbach Town finished as 6-5 winners.

Simon Lewis, Joe Macdonald and Tony Fidzewicz scored for the home team, who were very grateful for three own goals from White Horse.

Adam Smithies, Ken Mather (3) and Dan Wade netted for the visitors.

George and Dragon were too good for Division One side Broadhurst FC winning 8-1.

Steven Hughes was the days top scorer with four goals, with Sean Tierney, Matthew Waller, Charlie Hatton and Liam Lewis all scoring once.

Dan Goward scored for Broadhurst FC.

Nantwich Pirates beat Sydney Arms 3-1, thanks to two goals from Anthony Broadhurst and one from Brandon Broadhurst.

Ben Reddock was again on target for Sydney Arms.

In the final cup game, AFC Talbot narrowly lost to The Old Star, 2-3.

Chris Martin and Jay Collina scored for AFC Talbot, with Terry Cain (2) and Jamie Cain scoring for the Winsford outfit.

Faddiley had a comfortable win over Bridge Inn with goals from Richard Ford, Mike Scott, Ash Lawton and an og.

In the only game in the Premier Division, Betley went down 2-3 to White Lion, who were 0-3 ahead after only 30 minutes.

Brandon Mighten (2) and Keiron Smith scored for the visitors with Simon Roberts and Jamie Baker scoring for Betley.

The two games in Division One went according to the form book.

Audlem beat Princes Feathers 3-1, with goals from Mark Parker, Will Cork and Kev Beresford, with Dalton Parker scoring for the visitors.

The game between Talbot and C & N Utd took a long time to get going, but the home team finally took the lead just before half time thanks to an own goal, and finally won 6-2.

Joe Goodier (2), Brandon Grindley, Ryan Moss and Jordan Cotterell added further goals, with Josh Clive scoring twice for the visitors.

Willaston White Star’s involvement in the Cheshire FA Sunday Cup came to an end at the quarter final stage when they travelled to the Stockport area and were beaten 7-0 by Queens Bredbury.
