chester zoo visit - NYCC outreach trip

Young members of the Nantwich Youth and Community Centre enjoyed a memorable day at Chester Zoo – thanks to funding from criminals!

The trip, the first outreach event since the centre re-opened, was paid for through Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner Dan Price and the SWAP Fund (Proceeds of Crime Act).

The Cholmondeley Estate also helped by providing a free community minibus and driver.

NYCC trustees Cllr Anna Burton and Graham Fenton helped organise the event, along with youth workers Leah and Sam and volunteer parents Gemma and the Rowe family.

Nantwich Town Cllr Burton said: “This was a fantastic day out and a great community effort.

“This was our first outreach activity since the centre re-opened.

“Thanks to the SWAP fund, there were no costs to families. We will definitely be organising more events like this in the future.”

Mrs Rowe, one of the parents, added: “We are already looking forward to the next outing!”

NYCC was re-opened last October after 18 months of hard work to refurbish the former Guy Harvey Youth Club on Birchin Lane in Nantwich.
