Barony Park’s playground in Nantwich is set to be updated with a new £100,000 multi-use play area.
And today we can reveal the draft plans for the new Barony Park playground.
Councillors are launching a public consultation, calling for residents to have their say on how the park should look.
It could be one of the first parks in the area to include an inclusive swing seat and features to attract users of all ages and abilities.
There will be comfortable seating, a new connected inclusive path throughout the park, a track rider, arched bridges and castle tunnels, a musical area and forest themed equipment and a dual slider for racing friends.
Nantwich Town Cllr Anna Burton said the park will be “a real winner”.

It’s being part funded by almost £50,000 of Section 106 money from Cheshire East Council, and further contributions from the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) via the Nantwich Town council and contributions from Nantwich Partnership.
Cllr Anna Burton said: “The new draft plans delivered by Cheshire East are inspiring.
“This conversation with the Nantwich community is important so that parents and children can have their say and tell us what they think.
“There are lots of things to do from toddlers upward and there is the potential to include a wealth of accessible features means it can be used by everyone.
“It’s exciting to be involved in a project like this. We want to hear your views.
“We currently have funding for some of the play area options but we would like to aim for the more comprehensive option, which has lots more accessible features including an accessible path, so that we can create a truly accessible playground for all.
“Any funders interested please do get in touch.
“We hope that the final designs will be influenced by residents’ suggestions and comments collated through our consultation-exercise with Nantwich Town Council which will begin on Tuesday 14th October 2025.”
The ambitious Option 2 will cost £100,000 and organisers are hoping to fill a £30,000 funding gap with grant applications.
The play area improvements are expected to start in the spring of 2026.
