Another house builder has unveiled plans to construct hundreds of homes on open land in Stapeley, Nantwich.

Seddon Homes has revealed it wants to build 275 homes on land off Broad Lane.

The site is on open farmland to the east of Broad Lane, south of the proposed expanded Muller Property “Nantwich South” development, and just a few hundred yards north of Stapeley Broad Lane Primary School.

The planned homes would add to the 75 homes planned by Nightingale Land just off Broad Lane and Batherton Lane.

In a letter to local residents, WSP Planning Consultancy acting for Seddon Homes said the plans were for “275 high-quality family homes and will include a mix of 1-5 bedroom homes, including affordable home provision”.

They added: “It includes high-quality landscaping around the site boundary. A network of green spaces are proposed, set amongst high quality landscaping.”

The company has not yet submitted a formal planning application but says it is seeking views from local residents.

They have started a public consultation which will close on November 30th this year.

One nearby resident said: “I am interested to know why they are building on our beautiful farmland on such a narrow busy road such as Broad Lane.

“It is already suffering a lot with heavy fast moving traffic and how will schools, doctors cope with such rapid development?”

  1. This is great news for Nantwich more houses

  2. What's This For? says:

That would be a long ,and ultimately very frustrating ,conversation.
Suffice it to say, ‘ you can’t put brains where there is sawdust’

  3. What's This For? says:

Nantwich does NOT need more overpriced, nasty ,high density
housing estates that further damage the environment
    and character of the area.

They are NOT doing us a favour, it’s all about greed.

  4. The new Leighton Hospital won’t even start to be built until 2027 and I heard that it will only have an extra 55 beds (if this is not correct, I will be happy if it is more). In the meantime we have possibly thousands of new houses built in it’s catchment area. The waiting lists are long enough as it is and they will only get longer.

  5. Same as usual… a cursory consultation process – none of which will matter. More houses, no additional schools, doctors, dentists etc. More cars heading to the motorways every morning and evening.

At what point is it enough? The town has been destroyed by these developers but our council keep waving these through. Bent or stupid? who knows?
