Nantwich Town U18s are through to the Cheshire FA Youth Cup final after a 4–2 semi-final victory away at Runcorn Linnets.
The Dabbers made a blistering start at Ormaston Chadwick Academy, racing into a two-goal lead inside the opening three minutes.
Runcorn Linnets responded well, however, and the entertaining contest was finely balanced at 2–2 by half-time.
Nantwich regrouped after the break and showed their quality, with Pickles completing a superb hat-trick.
The standout moment was a stunning free-kick from just outside the box that flew into the top corner.
Townsend added the other goal to seal a deserved 4–2 win against strong opposition.
U18s manager Steve Newman praised his side’s effort after the match.
He said: “We trained hard for the game. We took a strong squad and have had 110% effort from all of the lads — what more can you ask for? They’ve done their job and we’re in the final.”
The Cheshire FA Youth Cup Final will take place on Sunday March 29th against Macclesfield FC U18 Elite, with the venue to be confirmed.
