The popular classic car rally Weaver Wander returns to Nantwich this month with more than 130 vehicles already lined up!

The event, organised by the Rotary Club of Crewe and Nantwich Weaver, will take place on Saturday May 16th.

This year, registered classic and sports cars will gather at Crewe Vagrants in Willaston from 8am before beginning their planned route.

And for the first time for many years, the Rally will begin in Nantwich Town Square, where vehicles will be flagged off by the new Mayor of Nantwich Cllr Kim Jamson in one of her first civic events from 10.30am.

Cars will then drive for 50 miles before returning to Crewe Vagrants in the afternoon when prizes will be awarded at around 3.15pm.

Organisers have arranged a number of different routes, including two in the Peak district, one route in Staffordshire Moorlands, and one route in Cheshire/Shropshire and Staffordshire.

A spokesperson for the rotary said 134 cars were currently registered, as of today (May 6th).

  1. It is absolutely NOT a car race, with all participants having to adhere to the rules of the road like every other motorist. The Weaver Wander is a very well organised navigation event for all types of classic and sports cars. Vintage motorbikes are very welcome.

  2. H Densart says:

No it’s a car race, why would inclusion of a motor bike stack up as a fair opponent ?

  3. Graham Seward says:

Is it just cars or old motorbikes as well?
