A Nantwich tearoom has earned an Award for Excellence in The Tea Guild’s Top Tea Place 2012 awards. The accolade means Ginger & Pickles, based on Mill Street, is now recognised as one of the best of its kinds in Britain.
TV pundit and ex Manchester United striker Dion Dublin will be a guest at Nantwich Town’s end of season party later this month. Dublin, who also played for England, will be in town to present the awards at the Weaver Stadium event on Friday April 27.
South Cheshire NHS staff and volunteers attended an awards evening by Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT). The event recognised achievements of individuals and teams across MCHFT, which runs Leighton Hospital.

Hospital staff clocked up the kilometres – and the pounds – to help raise money for a new neonatal unit for South Cheshire babies. A group of around 30, including staff from Leighton Hospital and family and friends, took part in a 5km run at Barony Park in Nantwich.
Fire crews spent several hours battling a chimney blaze at a pub near Nantwich last night (April 10). The fire broke out in a second floor fireplace at The Badger Inn, on Nantwich Road, Church Minshull at around 5pm.

Nantwich Jazz and Music Festival organisers have hailed the 2012 event another huge success with more than 40,000 people visiting the town. The four-day event over the Easter weekend proved another hit with pub landlords, shops, restaurants and hotels all benefitting.
