The video, which is only available for staff but has been seen by the Local Democracy Reporting Service, depicts Cheshire East’s chief executive Rob Polkinghorne and the council’s other top bosses as “caped crusaders”.

Abandoned RSPCA rescue cat is narrowboat TV star in Nantwich

A cat who was abandoned with his mum and littermates in a bin bag and dumped by the roadside, starred in one of Channel 4’s “Narrow Escapes” episodes about living on a narrowboat near Nantwich.

Hugo, a black and white male cat, was rescued by the RSPCA 15 years ago when he was found tied-up in a bin bag on the roadside in Surrey.

Cheshire East Council should consider increasing the council tax rate on empty homes to help boost its coffers and help the housing crisis, a councillor has said.

Cheshire East currently charges the full amount of council tax for properties that are empty for between one and five years, 200% for those empty between five and 10 years and 300% for any that have been vacant for more than 10 years.
