A man and his dog will be completing a gruelling 100-mile course around Cheshire to raise money for the county’s search and rescue team. Dominique Shrubb (pictured) has been training for six months for the challenge which will see him cycle 64 miles, run 26 miles and kayak 10 miles.

An exhibition on calligraphy is the latest to go on show in the Community Gallery at Nantwich Museum. The exhibition, which runs until Saturday October 22, features the work of Frances Passmore and aims to show it has a broader range than the traditional image of a monk with quill and vellum.

A man suffered serious head injuries in an alleged attack outside Gregory’s nightclub in Nantwich. The 21-year-old victim, from Cumbria, was found unconscious outside the club on Castle Street at 2.30am on Saturday (September 10).

Nantwich man charged with murder of John Iveson

Two men, including one from Nantwich, are to be charged with the murder of John Iveson, Cheshire Police revealed. Mr Iveson (pictured) disappeared from his home town Nantwich in January 2007, aged 36, and has never been seen since.

Woman injured in car accident in Aston Juxtra Montrum

A woman was injured after her car crashed in Aston Juxtra Montrum, near Nantwich. Fire crews from Nantwich and Crewe were called out to the scene of the accident on Dairy Lane. Firefighters had to cut free the woman from her saloon car. Her injuries were not thought to be serious.

South Cheshire residents face human trafficking charges

Three people from South Cheshire have been charged with human trafficking and a fourth with money laundering. The charges follow an extensive investigation by Crewe CID and the Gangmaster Licensing Authority. Officers executed warrants at five addresses in Crewe. Four men and two women were arrested.
