But councillors have raised concerns that both sites could be for large houses ‘which are not needed’.

Pupils in Stapeley are safer on streets after donation from developer

Pupils at Stapeley Broad Lane Primary School in Nantwich have received a donation of reflective vests as part of Road Safety Week, helping students get to and from school more safely.

The donation, from David Wilson Homes, includes 60 hi-vis vests for pupils to wear while walking down busy streets, ensuring they can be easily seen when visibility is reduced on darker evenings.

A planned new Sainsbury’s Local which will create about 20 jobs in Shavington has been granted a licence to sell alcohol from 7am to 11pm every day.

The new store, which is still going through the planning process, is earmarked for land south of Newcastle Road, close to the Shavington Park development.

Wistaston Memorial Hall stands as a lasting tribute having been built in the shape of a cross more than 75 years ago in memory of the 16 men from Wistaston who lost their lives in the Second World War.
