A Wybunbury councillor says a new school on the outskirts of Crewe is desperately needed but if children can’t access it safely it shouldn’t be built there.

Cllr Janet Clowes was speaking about proposals to build a new primary school at Basford East.

A driver had to be cut free from wreckage after a collision with a tractor on a busy road between Nantwich and Church Minshull.

The accident happened on the B5074 south of Church Minshull at around 11.45am yesterday (Jan 16th) and fire crews from Winsford and Crewe were called to the scene.

A Cheshire East councillor has called for urgent action on a Willaston road which regularly floods and was under water for three months last winter.

Cllr Allen Gage said cars have been written off in recent years because of the issues on Eastern Road, especially when the water freezes.
