After four years of campaigning by Woolstanwood Parish Councillors, the Borough Council has erected a new metal safety fence between the footpath and the drop down to the Valley Brook, in Middlewich Road, near to the Rising Sun public house.

St Mary’s Church on Monks Lane in Acton organised several ‘Holly Holy Day’ events to mark the Battle of Nantwich.

The Church was open with ‘Tea at The Tower’ volunteers serving hot drinks and buttered toast.

New booklet on Nantwich’s role in English Civil War is unveiled

A newly published downloadable booklet “Visiting the Nantwich English Civil War Battlefields” is now available from the Nantwich Museum.

The booklet by Keith Lawrence, Director of the Cheshire Civil War Centre at the museum, considers the four battles which took place in the area in 1643 and 1644, and details routes by which the sites can be visited.

View to a Battle exhibition at Nantwich Museum

A new exhibition called “A View to a Battle” forms part of the Holly Holy Day commemoration of the Battle of Nantwich.

It opens in the Your Space Gallery of the museum, on Pillory Street, tomorrow (January 6) and runs until Saturday February 6.
