Cheshire East Council admitted today they will not be able to move the latest unauthorised travellers encampment in Nantwich.
Travellers arrived on the Cheshire East-owned Love Lane car park yesterday evening (June 3).
A councillor says he was “threatened” by angry men as took photos of an unauthorised encampment on The Vagrants in Willaston.
Cllr Allen Gage, Cheshire East for Willaston and Rope, said a number of men rounded on him when he was spotted taking pictures from a distance, one allegedly shouting “delete those, I’ll kill you”.
Cheshire East Council is dithering over applying for a court injunction against unauthorised travellers in Nantwich because of the “costly legal procedure”, says a Cabinet member.
Yet, the authority has so far failed to provide any details of this cost when questioned by Nantwich News.
