By Ashley Houghton Nantwich Town showed no signs of a FA Cup hangover with a scintillating first half display which led them to victory over local rivals Northwich Victoria. The Dabbers secured their sixth consecutive win at the Weaver Stadium thanks to three first-half goals by Fraser McLachlan, Mat Bailey and Ben Mills (pictured).
Two of Nantwich’s top sporting talents have teamed up off the pitch – after being recruited by the same employer. Nantwich CC batsman Jonny Kettle and Nantwich Town defender Mat Bailey are now working together at County Insurance Consultants.
Nantwich Town boss Jimmy Quinn has emerged as the latest contender for the vacant Northern Ireland manager’s position. Quinn and Faroe Islands boss Brian Kerr were the latest to be linked to the position after the resignation of Nigel Worthington following Northern Ireland’s failure to qualify for the 2012 Euro Championships.

Ex England and Chelsea star Blunstone (pictured) and Northern Ireland star Quinn, now manager of Nantwich Town, captivated the audience with tales from their careers, including working with Tommy Docherty.

Richmond Village in Nantwich has teamed up with Nantwich Town to host an evening of football entertainment. Former Chelsea and England player Frank Bluntstone (pictured) and Northern Ireland legend Jimmy Quinn are appearing at the village on Friday September 30 at 7pm to talk about their careers.
A team of Man United and Man City legends will be playing at Nantwich Town’s Weaver Stadium for charity. The Manchester legends side will take on an all-star charity team in a match this Sunday September 25 in aid of the Wingate Centre in Wrenbury. Nantwich Town’s postponed FA Cup first qualifying round tie against Ramsbottom United has been rescheduled to Tuesday night. The original tie due to be staged yesterday (Sept 17) was called off after heavy rain left the North West Counties Premier side’s pitch waterlogged.
Nantwich Town notched a second successive league victory with an impressive 3-1 win away at FC United of Manchester tonight (September 14). The Dabbers turned in an excellent performance in front of 1,350 supporters at Bury’s Gigg Lane, and crashed in three second half goals to seal all three points.

Former Newcastle United midfielder Cassidy was manager at Workington Town before being appointed at Whitby last October. his first game was at Nantwich, which the Dabbers won 3-1.
Nantwich Town were beaten 4-3 for the second consecutive league game in a topsy-turvy encounter at home to Burscough. The Dabbers at one point trailed 4-1, but scored two goals in a minute to give themselves a chance with 20 minutes left.
