I am writing to express my concerns ahead of the imminent opening of the long-delayed A51 Reaseheath bypass road.

After years of postponements, the road is now expected to open in June 2026 — more than four years later than originally planned, with the scheme initially due for completion in February 2022.

A brilliant opening stand of 137 was the foundation of a Nantwich CC success that took the first team into the last 32 of the ECB National Club Championship.

Ray Doyle’s team will now take on Cheshire County Cricket League rivals Didsbury for a place in the last 16 after beating Wolverhampton CC by six wickets at Whitehouse Lane.

Nantwich nightclub The Studio has been given permission to extend its opening hours on Fridays and Saturdays to 4.30am despite objections from some nearby residents.

The Studio, on Castle Street, currently has permission to open until 3.30am Monday to Saturday and until 2.30am on Sundays.

Two Cheshire East councillors have rubbished a suggestion the council should consider cutting the number of days its tips are open to the public.

At present, household waste and recycling centres such as Pyms Lane in Crewe are open seven days a week and only close on Christmas Day.
