Wych-Malbank Rotary members in Nantwich have toasted the success of a recycling initiative called “Handmade in Nantwich” which raised almost £1,700.
They invited members, friends, and Facebook followers to get busy and make items from household cupboards and garden sheds that they would donate for sale online or at the market.

Plans to improve cycling and walking provision across Cheshire East have been approved by council leadership.
The CEC cabinet today approved the implementation of “Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plans” (LCWIPs) — covering Crewe, Congleton, Macclesfield, and Wilmslow.
A new scheme that works with perpetrators of domestic abuse to change their behaviour and protect families will be developed in Cheshire.
The scheme will be funded by the Home Office after Cheshire’s police and crime commissioner David Keane secured £233,000 in funding from their perpetrator programme fund.
Nantwich Town and parish councils could soon benefit from the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) charge on housing and retail developments in 2019.
Cheshire East Council’s draft framework for the scheme has been largely endorsed.
