Cheshire East secures funding for Gypsy and Traveller transit site

Cheshire East has secured more funds towards the Gypsy and Traveller site at Middlewich and hopes to begin the tendering process for construction soon.

Planning permission was granted last August for the site to be developed on land off Cledford Lane.

Cheshire East has given the go-ahead for a gypsy and traveller transit site on land off Cledford Lane in Middlewich.

Six councillors voted in favour, four against and one abstained following a two and a half hour debate at the heated strategic planning board meeting.
