Walk-in vaccination centres to open amid rise in Cheshire East cases

Pop-up walk in vaccination centres will be available in South Cheshire next week as health chiefs continue to tackle the rising cases of Covid.

Walk-in vaccination clinics will be running in Crewe on Monday and Tuesday at Grand Junction Retail Park and Weston Road, run by Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Trust.

The NHS body responsible for Cheshire’s Covid-19 vaccination programme is facing a deficit of £6.5 million.

NHS Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) latest financial projections show higher expenditure in the organisation’s hospital discharge programme in the autumn means it is facing a black hole of £6.461 million by the end of March.

In his update on CEC’s standing in the pandemic today (January 15), Cllr Corcoran said the vaccination programme is “going well”.
