Thousands of people have signed a petition supporting Nantwich scrap metal collector, Michael “Flash” Meakin.
The petition was launched after Wulvern Housing posted signs around his property on Gerard Drive warning him about fly-tipping and threatening to prosecute.
Staff from Wulvern Housing have been helping collect vital supplies to donate to Nantwich Foodbank. They joined volunteers from Tesco Extra to collect donations as part of the national “Every Can Helps” campaign.
Nantwich Foodbank has been offered further backing by South Cheshire housing provider Wulvern. The company has pledged another year’s support to the Trussell Trust Foodbank in Nantwich, as well as the St Paul’s Pantry one in Crewe.
A housing worker is to run nine miles from Crewe to Nantwich in 90 minutes for charity. Martin Packham, who works for Wulvern Housing, is planning to run from head office on Electra Way in Crewe to Mill House in Nantwich.
