An exhibition on calligraphy is the latest to go on show in the Community Gallery at Nantwich Museum.

The exhibition, which runs until Saturday October 22, features the work of Frances Passmore and aims to show it has a broader range than the traditional image of a monk with quill and vellum.

Passmore has a degree in English and an interest in art, and found the combination of words and art offered by calligraphy irresistible.

She said: “When I discovered the world of calligraphy it felt that I had found my natural home.”

The techniques encompass any way to make letters including pen on paper, brush on fabric, cut letters and printing.
