School children from Nantwich joined forces to take part in a multi-sport inclusion day at South Cheshire College.
The event was co-ordinated by the Crewe and Nantwich School Sport Partnership and gave youngsters a chance to try activities and learn new skills.
Amd college sports students had the opportunity to put their coaching skills into practice under the guidance of School Sport Partnership staff.
Up to 50 youngsters from schools across Crewe and Nantwich attended the sports inclusion event.
They took part in athletics, basketball, indoor golf and botcha in the college’s sports arena.
Graham Coffey, head of sport and leisure at South Cheshire College, said: “The event gave our students the chance to get involved with a live event and put some of their sports skills into practice.”
Crewe and Nantwich School Sport Partnership (CNSSP) links local primary, secondary and special schools to develop PE and sport opportunities for youngsters in full time education.
Graham added: “We have an excellent relationship with the Crewe and Nantwich School Sport Partnership. This was another successful event which benefited our own students and local young people at the same time.”
Niall McGregor, school games organiser for CNSSP, said: “Thanks to South Cheshire College for hosting this event in their fantastic facility and to sports students at the college for their support.”
