Firefighters spent hours battling a fire in the roofspace of a Nantwich home.

Crews from Nantwich, Audlem and Crewe were called to the incident involving a semi-detached property on Whitchurch Road in Nantwich just after 8.30am today (November 22).

A smoldering fire in the roof was causing smoke to pour out of the property.

Firefighters tackled the blaze from above the chimney and through the ceiling of the neighbouring property.

Crews remained on the scene until after 4pm dealing with the incident.

It’s not believed anyone was hurt in the fire.

In a separate incident, crews fought a fire at a house on Baronia Place, off Barony Road, Nantwich.

Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used a hose reel water jet to put out a grill fire out in the property at about 1.30pm today.

A large fan was also used to clear the smoke. No one was thought to be injured.
