Nantwich Show organisers said all efforts are now focused on making The International Cheese Awards as big a success as possible.
Secretary Adrian Lawrence confirmed they had to cancel the rest of Nantwich Show because of saturated ground conditions at Dorfold Park.
But the popular Cheese Show, which this year features three celebrity chefs James Martin, Gino D’Acampo and Jean-Christophe Novelli, will go ahead as planned with a trade day on Tuesday July 24 and public opening on July 25.
Mr Lawrence declined to be drawn on the cancellation and the impact financially this could have on the show’s committee.
“There are no other comments to make at this stage,” he said.
“We are just fully committed to staging the Cheese Show and look forward to good weather and a great Nantwich Show on July 31, 2013.”
There will more than 3,500 cheeses to choose from during the International Cheese Awards.
Visitors can also pop into the new Education Centre, watch celebrity chefs cook up a storm at the purpose built Cookery Demonstration Theatre, and quench their thirst at the new Cheese and Wine Bar.
