Nantwich Town former favourite Sean Cooke has returned to the Weaver Stadium on loan from AFC Telford United.

Cooke has signed on loan until the end of the 2014/15 season, the club has confirmed.

He first joined the Dabbers in 2011 following trials with Blackburn Rovers and Wigan Athletic.

But the 22-year-old, who was a big hit with fans, left the Weaver Stadium for AFC Fylde in February 2013.

In May, he was on the move again to AFC Telford United as they prepared for life in the Conference North.

But during the 2013/14 season he was loaned out to former club AFC Fylde.

He returned to the New Bucks Head for the start of the new season.

He played 24 times this season for the Bucks, mainly coming off the bench in the Conference Premier.

But he was transfer listed by Telford in January 2015.

Manager Phil Parkinson said: “I am delighted to bring back Sean Cooke to Nantwich Town.

“He was a fan favourite in his previous spell at the club and I am sure the fans are delighted to be welcoming Cooke back to the Weaver Stadium.

“His experience at Telford United will be critical to us in our push to beat the drop this season and we are extremely grateful that Steve Kittrick and Telford United have allowed us to bring Cooke on loan.”

Cooke will go into the squad for Saturday’s game against Halesowen Town at the Weaver Stadium, kick off 3pm.
