College employee Richard Stack transformed his South Cheshire home into a Halloween ‘House of Horrors’ to raise more than £1,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The 53-year-old South Cheshire College worker decked his back garden with ghoulish creations, wicked witches and a mini-graveyard in support of the national charity.
He invited those that dared to a special Halloween party at his Crewe property.
Guests were aghast at the set which featured a spooky lounge, cobwebs and spiders, wicked witches and a scary butler.
Gravestones, headless corpses, pumpkins, talking ghouls, a ghost clock and skeletons also created a chilling atmosphere.
Richard, a building services officer at the college, enters into the Halloween spirit each year to raise money for different charities.
Richard and his partner James entered into the fright night fun by dressing up in spooky outfits for their party while Hocus Pocus videos were projected onto the back of the house.
Friends and family attending the party were asked to make donations towards the fundraising cause, while local companies and organisations provided Richard with some of his scary props.
Richard said: “James and I love Halloween and transforming the garden for one day and night only in the year.
“There is always a lot of interest in what we do and I’m really grateful to local businesses who have donated items and helped us to add the vital finishing touches to the garden.
“In particular, we would like to thank Marie Curie, The Cat Community Radio station, Costa Coffee in Crewe and six other Costa Coffee shops for their generous support.
“We would also like to say a big thanks to volunteers and members of the public for supporting our event.”
Chris Barratt, chairman of the Marie Curie South Cheshire Support Group, added: “We hope everyone who attended had a spookingly good evening in raising money for such a worthy cause.”
