The mum of battling Nantwich schoolgirl Elle Morris is planning a ball to help raise funds for her life-saving transplant.
Rebecca Whitfield hopes the event planned for July 8 will help the family prepare for when doctors call Elle for her double lung transplant.
Elle, 10, from Wrenbury near Nantwich, is now officially on the lung transplant list through Great Ormond Street children’s hospital in London.
The Stapeley Broad Lane pupil has cystic fibrosis and a double lung transplant is her last option and needs it within a year.
The Elle’s Wishes campaign captured the hearts of millions, after she wrote her 10 wishes she wanted to come true before her 10th birthday.
She had an amazing six months with most of her wishes coming true – including watching the X Factor live, having a 10th princess birthday party at Peckforton Castle, completing a bike ride, going on holiday, meeting Olly Murs and Rita Ora, making a music video, and promoting so much awareness of Organ donation & the CF Trust.
“The generosity of people in the community has been so overwhelming,” said Rebecca.
“And we are keen to let everybody know how she is doing as people are always asking, as well as keeping on campaigning.
“In the last few months she is slowly getting more tired and weaker, needing to rest a lot more even with having oxygen 24/7 as well as being vented overnight.
“I am in the planning stages of holding a ‘Elles Wishes’ ball at the Crown Hotel on July 8, to try and raise funds for when we get that call for her transplant.”
Anyone able to donate a raffle prize, auction prize or can provide entertainment, is urged to get in touch.
