Solicitors at Beswicks in Nantwich make coffee for St Luke's Hospice

Nantwich solicitors swapped their suits for aprons to serve visitors to a St Luke’s hospice fundraiser.

Staff at Beswicks Legal staged a coffee morning to boost funds for the charity and meet neighbours on Beam Heath Business Park.

The kettle was on the boil all morning for businesses to call in and sample cakes and biscuits made by lawyers from its family, wills and estate planning and property departments.

Family lawyer David Lago said: “Beswicks Legal has become very active in the South Cheshire community since opening a Cheshire office in Nantwich last year.

“The coffee morning was a great way to say hello to our business neighbours in Nantwich while raising money for a good cause.”

Beswicks Legal, a member of the South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce, handles cases in areas of law including family, property and employment.

The firm is also a specialist in sports law with a team that represents professional sportsmen and women across the UK.

It has become a keen supporter of South Cheshire events, including the Chamber business awards and Nantwich Food Bank as well as being a new supporter of the Nantwich fete in July and food festival in September.

Wills and estate planning solicitor Juliette Carter said: “We are full of admiration for hospice staff who provide comfort for local people when they need it most.

“Making the hospice a charity we support was an easy choice.”

The coffee morning, including a raffle and guess-the-weight of the cake contest, raised more than £200. Collections are continuing among Beswicks Legal staff at Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle under Lyme.
