A 58-year-old woman died following a collision with a tractor on the A500 near Crewe.
Police say the accident happened at around 10pm last night (Thursday January 3) in the Barthomley area.
The collision involved a grey Kia and a blue tractor.
The driver of the car – a 58-year-old local woman – died at the scene.
Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
The driver of the tractor was uninjured.
Cheshire Police said: “Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information or dashcam footage which may aid the investigation.”
