Police are probing a shooting incident in Nantwich after finding a discharged firearm in a house.

Officers swooped on a property in Arnold Street, Nantwich at around 11pm last night (October 3).

They discovered a firearm that had been discharged, causing damage to the window of a property.

No one was injured as a result of the incident.

An investigation has been launched and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what has happened.

Chief Inspector Simon Newall said: “I would like to reassure residents that this appears to be an isolated incident and we are doing all we can to establish what has happened and trace whoever was responsible.

“We have stepped up patrols in the area to provide reassurance to the local community. Any residents with any issues or concerns should speak to an officer or contact us on 101.”
