Nantwich Town striker Joe Malkin is training with Crewe Alexandra, the newly promoted League One club has confirmed.
Malkin has been a big hit with the Dabbers in the last two seasons, scoring a bundle of goals in attack.
Now he has been given a chance to train with Dave Artell’s squad in the pre-season.
And if the 22-year-old impresses he could secure a move to the Alex as they prepare for the 2020-21 season likely to start in September.
Alex manager David Artell told crewealex.net he is given an opportunity to invited players he believes “would bolster his squad”.
“I think from next month possibly, yes, we may see more here.
“We have already been in contact with Joe Malkin who will come in from Nantwich.
“But we’ll have a couple more in next month, that’s for sure.
“The ball is firmly in Joe’s court now, he’s been given an opportunity.
“He’s got a tennis ball and a racket, so let’s see what he’s got.”
Malkin joined Nantwich Town in the Northern Premier Divison from Cammell Laird in 2018.
