Nantwich Town suffered another home league defeat last night, going down 2-0 to Hyde United in the Northern Premier League.
Two first half goals from Tom Pratt and Jonah Mitchell are enough to give the visitors all three points at the Optimum Pay Stadium.
The visitors took the lead as early as the seventh minute.
A free kick from right was not cleared by the Nantwich defence and Pratt was able to volley into the floor and off the crossbar into the net.
Eight minutes later Hyde almost made it 2-0 when Tongue’s long range effort crashed off the bar and out to safety.
Joel Stair had a chance to level for Nantwich when he was set up by Luke Walsh inside the box, but his effort was saved.
And it proved a costly miss as Hyde doubled their lead on 34 minutes.
Tongue’s low free kick was pushed away by Terry in the Dabbers goal but it fell straight into the path of Mitchell who fired home from close range.
Sean Cooke went close for Nantwich soon after the break, and penalty appeals for Nantwich were waved away after Hatton crashed to the floor in the box.
On 64 minutes, Joe Mwasile latched on to a long ball before shooting just wide.
Nantwich continued to press but struggled to make clear cut chances in the final 20 minutes and the visitors held on for all three points.
The Dabbers slip to 12th place in the table, below Hyde, with nine points from seven games.
They travel to face lowly Radcliffe on Saturday (September 11) in a bid to get their league form back on track.
