Thieves ransacked a house near Audlem, stealing cash and jewellery.

The raid happened Sometime between August 18 and 23 when offenders forced entry into an address on Mill Lane in Corbrook, near Audlem.

Once inside they stole a number of items, including a quantity of cash and jewellery.

Detective Constable Alison Roberts said: “Burglary is a serious offence in which people are targeted in the place they should be able to feel most safe, their own home.

“In this instance the victims were on holiday at the time of the burglary only to return to find their home had been completely ransacked.

“Not only did the thieves steal a number of items, they also damaged a number of personal possessions which were of great sentimental value to the victims.

“Understandably, they have been left extremely upset an anxious as a result of the incident and we are committed to doing all that we can to trace the people responsible.

“Investigations in relation to the incident are currently ongoing and we are following a number of lines of enquiry, including forensics and CCTV analysis.

“As part of our ongoing enquiries I’m keen to hear from anyone who was in the area during the time the incident occurred and believes they may have witnessed anything suspicious or unusual.
