A 99-year-old veteran who served in Burma and now lives in South Cheshire, is to take part in the national VJ (Victory over Japan) Day 70th anniversary commemorations in London.

Former army captain Bert Molsom, a resident at Morris Care’s Corbrook Park Nursing Home in Audlem, will attend the event with his son, also Bert, this Saturday August 15.

The tortoiseshell and black kittens – four females and one male – were found by a member of the public in a garden in Madeley, North Staffordshire.
