Cheshire East Council is sitting on more than £33 million of section 106 money from developers, with some money dating back from a planning application 28 years ago.
A freedom of information request has revealed the authority currently has a staggering £33,428,764 in unspent funds, having collected £39.7 million of such contributions since 2010.

Youth Parliament reps call for mental health support in CEC schools

Youth parliament representatives for Cheshire East have called for more decision-making power when it comes to mental health support in schools.
Ruben Barrow, 15, from Crewe, and Millie Oldroyd, 16, from Middlewich, made the plea following the online “Taboo” conference, which aimed to highlight the mental health challenges faced by young people.
Crewe and Nantwich in Tier 2 of Covid restrictions from December 3
Cheshire East and Cheshire West and Chester boroughs will be in Tier 2 – the ‘high alert’ level – once national lockdown ends on December 2.
The Government made the announcement this morning, which means both boroughs remaining in same tier as they were before national lockdown back in early November.
New contact tracing system for Cheshire East introduced

The moves, which ‘complement’ the national NHS Test & Trace system, will go live tomorrow, November 25.
