Young pupils at Malbank School in Nantwich have adopted special furry friends to help with their learning!

The school adopted four female guinea pigs before Christmas that are being looked after in Sixth Form.

Councillor calls for SEND funding review as Cheshire East misses out

A councillor has called for a review of the funding formula which sees Cheshire East allocated just a third of the amount some other councils receive for children with special needs.

Cllr Laura Crane, chair of Cheshire East’s children and families committee, is urging all councillors to lobby their MPs to ensure the funding formula is revisited as soon as possible.

Two Cheshire East councillors are calling for a ban on mobile phones in all the authority’s maintained schools.

Independent councillors David Jefferay (Wilmslow) and Emma Gilman (Macclesfield) will be presenting a motion to full council today (December 10th) calling for the authority to back a phone-free environment throughout the school day.
