Nantwich Players are to stage an evening of readings from both Elizabethan eras as part of the Jubilee celebrations. “Elizabethan Words & Wine” will take place at Nantwich Museum at 7.30pm this Friday June 22.

Members of South Cheshire Harriers running club have helped to raise more than £2,000 for Age UK Cheshire. They presented a cheque for £2,300 to the charity at an awards dinner at Crewe Golf Club.
A drama club for young performers is being launched in Wrenbury, Nantwich. The club, run by Chester-based Centre Stage Academy, will start on Saturday February 25 at Wrenbury Village Hall.
Nantwich Camera Club’s 2012 photographic exhibition has opened in the Millennium Gallery at Nantwich Museum. Club chairman John Kay introduced the opening event by thanking the Pillory Street venue for staging the exhibition.
By Jonathan White Hardy athletes from South Cheshire Harriers took to the countryside near Nantwich for their annual New Year Social Run. Thirty-four runners, and one dog called Jack, donned their running shoes and braved the chilly, dry Bank Holiday Monday weather.
Scores of fans turned up to watch the South Cheshire George Formby Ukulele Society’s Christmas Concert in Wistaston Memorial Hall. The concert in front of 150 people included group, duet and solo ukulele performances.
Christmas shoppers in Nantwich will be entertained by live music on the next two Saturdays in the town square. The Co-Op Youth Wind Band will be performing in the square this Saturday December 17 from 10am to 2pm.
