Nantwich First Responders have welcomed the town’s first 24-hour access defibrillator.
The life-saving equipment will be installed outside St Mary’s Church after it was donated by a local family.

One man was killed and a couple left critically injured in the M6 nine-vehicle pile-up near junction 16 for Nantwich. Many others were injured in the the accident involving two vans, two HGVs and five cars which closed the southbound motorway for most of the day.
Nantwich hospital patients will have access to improved emergency care at Leighton Hospital after the trust was awarded the status of Major Trauma Receiving Unit. University Hospital of North Staffordshire (UHNS) has been designated as the area’s local Major Trauma Centre, and will be supported by Leighton Hospital as a Major Trauma Unit.
