The Principal and CEO of Cheshire College – South & West has been awarded the OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.
Jasbir Dheshi – known as Dheshi – was awarded it for services to education.
Cheshire College – South & West is celebrating its five-year anniversary following the merger of South Cheshire College and West Cheshire College.
The milestone coincides with the Higher Education Graduation Ceremony at Chester Cathedral.

More than three-quarters of respondents to an NHS survey have backed the proposed merger of South Cheshire, Eastern Cheshire, West Cheshire, and Vale Royal clinical commissioning groups (CCGs).

South Cheshire College is in talks with three other colleges in the county to create one FE college by 2018.
The talks follow a review of Further Education across Cheshire and Warrington.
