Cheshire East highways officers are “dragging their feet” over schemes being funded by councillors’ ward budgets – with one saying Cheshire East faces losing nearly £50,000 of investment because “we can’t get a response”.

Cllr Craig Browne was speaking as the highways and transport committee which discussed the member ward budget scheme.

As a local resident, I know potholes are a widespread problem, but the situation on Wistaston Green Road in Wistaston has reached a truly alarming state and can no longer be brushed aside as “just one of those things”.

From Middlewich Road right through to Valley Road, the surface of Wistaston Green Road is riddled with potholes.
