Plans to convert The Gables into a beauty salon and flats have been given the go-ahead – with councillors welcoming the re-purposing of the historic Nantwich town centre building.
The Beam Street property is currently empty but was formerly used as a community club and offices.

Plans to convert an historic building in Nantwich town centre into a beauty salon and flats have been recommended for approval.
The Gables, on Beam Street, is currently empty but was formerly used as a community club and offices.
The popular Nantwich Luncheon Club for the over 60s is opening its doors to those living outside the Nantwich boundary.
For years the group met twice a week at The Gables on Beam Street before moving to its new venue at Nantwich Civic Hall last year.
Nantwich Civic Hall will see a return of weekly clubs and activities as the final Covid pandemic restrictions are lifted on July 19.
From Monday, a programme of activities will restart during the daytime and followed by the welcome return of evening classes/clubs in the near future.

Nantwich Town Council has agreed to take on the town’s Civic Centre and indoor and outdoor markets from April 2012. Town councillors also voted to take charge of public toilets in the market, on Barony Park and Snow Hill car park.
