Spring Dance Shows at South Cheshire College

Performing Arts students from Crewe and Nantwich had a spring in their step when they staged a series of action-packed dance shows at South Cheshire College.

The group of talented performers lit up the college’s Centre Stage Theatre for three days to showcase their talents.

They performed a number of dance styles which they have learnt on their courses including contemporary, jazz, street jazz and urban.

The eye-catching shows also included a choreography piece and a musical theatre performance.

First and second year students took part in the shows from courses including the Dance BTEC 90 Credit programme, the Dance BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma, the Dance BTEC Certificate and The BTEC Extended Certificate in Performing Arts.

Local schools from Nantwich and Crewe were invited free of charge to both of the matinee performances while there was a good turnout for the evening shows.

Helen Forster, Performing Arts Lecturer at South Cheshire College, said: “The students all worked really hard in the run-up to the shows and were pleased to showcase their skills to a wider audience.

“The performances were fantastic events and there was something to whet everyone’s appetite.

“Thanks to staff, students and members of the public who supported all the performances.

“The support the students received is much appreciated and gave them valuable experience of performing in front of a live audience.”
