A Nantwich mum is celebrating after scooping top prizes at the prestigious Crufts dog show.
Mother-of-four Lesa Miles triumphed with her Havanese dog Tanika in the Junior Bitch category and in the Reserve Best Bitch.
It’s a fine double for Lesa, of Murrayfield Drive, Willaston, and her kids who all muck in with regular grooming and walking duties.
Lesa told Nantwichnews: “It was a wonderful feeling to firstly win Junior Bitch at Crufts.
“But then to go on to get Reserve Best Bitch out of 65 Havanese dogs, which is a really great achievement for Tanika who is only 14 months old! She loves to show.”
Tanika was handled by a professional handler Justin Carroll, of Woodhaven Showteam, during the international four-day show.
“She is already a European Junior Champion with many achievements gained around the shows in Europe and Ireland,” Lesa added.
“Her show name is Versailles Tanika Adorele at Cotonese.”
Lesa paid tribute to her four children Anna 15, John 13, and Luke 10 and Elliott 8, who go to St Anne’s Primary, Nantwich.
“They all help me with the dogs, as there is a lot of grooming to be done, and of course walking!” she said.
“The boys all love showing and sometimes enter into the Junior handler classes.”
The family has four other dogs, a Bichon Frise and two other Havanese called Bazey Bubble and Bandit, and a Coton de Tulear they collected from Denmark in January.
“He starts his show career at the end of this month!” Lesa added.
