More than 10,000 people are expected to watch an explosive fireworks event in Dorfold Park, Nantwich.
Pyrotechnic experts John Malam and Alan Rhead, of Blitz Fireworks in Crewe, have teamed up with Nantwich Agricultural Society to organise the spectacular display and family bonfire event.
The Spooktacular event on October 27 is set to attract thousands to Dorfold Park – home of the Nantwich Show staged by the society.
MrMalam, from Shavington, said: “The aim is to give local people another great event to look forward to after the town’s Food and Drink Festival.
“Blitz has been involved in all of the Halloween firework events at Dorfold Park but this will be the biggest and best yet.
“Most importantly it is an all-weather event. Even heavy rain won’t stop our display and we will be using some of the most amazing and dazzlingly colourful fireworks available today.”
The event will feature more than 1,300 fireworks and a show-stopping finale set to pop music.
Other attractions include a funfair, bonfire, licensed bar, fancy dress competition, VIP hospitality marquee, various catering stalls and competitions.
A free bus will be laid on to Dorfold Park from Nantwich Civic Hall and Snowhill car-park.
Rick Johnson, a former town policeman and a director with the Nantwich Show, andRoger Mills, a director with the Nantwich Food and Drink Festival, plan to make Spooktacular another highlight on the town’s social calendar.
MrMills said: “We are all about supporting Nantwich and making it a great visitor destination.
“Blitz are known for putting on breath-taking displays and we are billing this as the biggest fireworks spectacular in the region. It will be a fabulous family night and certainly one tocremember.”
